Alexa is here!

Life is soo hectic!! I cannot believe that today is Halloween... Ugh tommorrow is November 1st.. which would of been my sisters due date but Alexa Josephine was born, October 29th at 5:57pm.. 8lb 11oz...... Andrea and Steve brought her home today from the hospital dressed up in her pumpkin outfit that I bought her.... She looked sooo adorable, I cannot wait to see her later in her flower costume I bought her...

This morning Andrea invited us over fro dinner, so I told her I would bring dessert,, I wanted to play with a cake, so i got out my pans and made the basic cakes then was torn on how to decorate.. I found a new recipe for frosting and it is soo easy and tastes just like the bakery.. so i decided to tint it pink, then decided i wanted to try making it chocolate flavored so that is the middle layer.. i did not know what to put on top, then i thought of these flowers and butterfly i have had and it just came together... I was going to make a butterfly shaped top layer for andreas baby shower a mos from today, but after this i am going to get some silk butterflies to make it easier.. the only thing i learned was to make the cake a day ahead, easier to frost!

28 weeks!!!

I cannot believe Andrea is 28 weeks pregnant... It seems like just yesterday when she called and said "Hi Auntie"... wow 12 weeks left... I cannot wait to spoil Alexa!

lots going on!

This past Sunday I had off so we had to do something!! I heard about the potatoe festival in North Branford so we decided to check it out... We had baked potatoes with all kinds of fixins.. homemade donuts and all kinds of old fashioned soda... mmmmm.. Chantal's friend matt went with us and they went on a couple of rides!

here are the baby shower invitations i have been working on... I pulled my back out a couple of days ago so i sat on the couch watching old 90210 episodes and finished 81 of these...

Pam and I have hung out alot at "2 foot lake" which is what we nicknamed her pool....lol

Andrea birthday was actually on thursday, She had 2 cakes that day becuase her and steve could not decide on a cake.....lol So today she is having a little picnic at her house so i told her i would bring the cake... I got to use my new pans that she bought me for my birthday.. The flip flops were made by cutting the two foot shapes out of a circle pan.. the flowers were ones i had made out of coffee filters, and dyed them using kool aid. so they are safe to be on the cake..

As you all know I love to bake so when I saw these cupcakes I had to make them, they are much brighter in real life.... I brought them to my head cashier meeting last night, everyone loved them....

playing catch up!

I know I am a terrible blogger.... Sorry... Life is soo crazy right now... Dealing with some bulls*#*,,, but we will get through it.... I will try to post more often.. I have been on vacation this week, but I was even busier...lol but in a good way... I started vacation on July 9th at 2pm when I got out of work, I went over to pams house and we hung out in her pool which we have nicknamed 2 foot lake......Chantal recieved her first paycheck from working with Norm for the summer. Then on Sat the 10th Pam and I went to a scrap tag sale at Patti's house. got some good things, then in the afternoon me Norm and Chantal went to the mall, which I hate but Chantal wanted to go.. Chantal found and bought her dress for her ring dance in November.. She got it at DEB. It was marked down from $140.00 to $40.00... It looks awesome on her.... Chantal then spent the night at her fathers house. On sunday me and Norm went to Silver Sands beach in Milford with Pam and Shannon...I got soooo burnt, and am now peeling..... On Monday I went with Amy Gaynor to her sisters house who lives on the river, for a day of fun, but I tried to stay out of the sun a little bit because I was sooo sore... On Tuesday it was my 34th birthday.. I stayed home and relaxed then Andrea and Steve came over for dinner and dessert, I made a cake that looked like an owl, I love owls, which is why I made my own cake. I think it came out pretty good... On Wednesday it was our anniversary, we did not do anything because Norm had to work overtime. I was ok with it. We can celebrate us anytime. I went to the mall with Pam, Shannon, and Reilly because Shannon wanted to look at the dresses.... On Thursday me, Pam, Shannon and Riley went to Indian Wells beach for a little while we built sandcastles... I have not been there in years in fact the last time I went was with my mom, dad and sister... It was soo weird being there again.. On Friday Pam and I went to the drs appt with Andrea, Baby M is doing great... Then we finnally found rafts for the pool, so we ended up going back to Pam's house to swim and scrap.. Norm stayed home because the van needed work which he finnally finished on Sat, On Friday night we ended up going for ice cream @ Richs farm in Oxford withAndrea and Steve.... ummmmm...Then after Norm finished the car on Sat, me ,Chantal and Norm went to the waterfall at Indian Wells which I had never seen before, it was pretty but it was sooo crowded, we ended up going in the little wading pool at the bottom that had noone in it,,, we had a great time....Chantal loved when the tiny little fishies sucked on her feet. Then today we stayed home and relaxed it was soo nice.... I am still off tommorow but I think I will just relax.....

Tommorrow am we leave for Mass... We are going to Magic Wings and The Yankee Candle, pics to follow... heheee

coffee filters?????

I have been very busy on my vacation.. Here are some of the flowers I have made while on vacation, I used coffee filters... Even my daughter loved them and asked for specific ones.... She is going to make barrettes out of them..... Gee my almost 16 year old thinks I am still cool...lol I have given a bunch to my BFF Pam... She always loves my work...lol
